Choose One of Three Map Styles
You specify the area shown on your map, the exact map size, and choose one of three levels of map detail: Local, Metro or Regional.

Local Area Maps: Ideal for viewing the area immediately surrounding your location, the local area map style can cover up to 2 miles across (or a 1 mile radius) and includes local streets, parks and lakes. Two street styles are available: standard and cased.

Metro Area Maps: This map style can cover up to 30 miles across (15 mile radius) and displays your location, town, neighboring towns, major roads, highways and other important features.

Metro Sample

Regional Maps: Designed to cover 30 to 100 miles (up to a 50 mile radius), the regional map style shows your location, the surrounding highways and city points, and other more general reference features.

You can use either a radius around your location or north, south, east and west boundaries to describe the area on your map:

The specifications below describe the map you will receive. We believe you should know exactly what to expect when you order a map from Maponics. A sample is available on this page. If you have any questions, please call us at 800-762-5158.

There are three types of Custom Location Maps; each one is suitable for a mapping a particular size area, and includes an appropriate level of detail for the scale of the map.

Local Custom Location Maps

These maps are suitable for mapping areas up to two miles across, and include the following features:
      - Highways, labeled with the appropriate shields
      - Major roads, labeled as space permits
      - Local streets, labeled as space permits
      - Local parks and golf courses,labeled as space permits
      - State and National Parks, Forests and Monuments
      - Water features
      - Military bases
      - Airports
      - Indian reservations

Metro Custom Location Maps

These maps are suitable for mapping areas five to thirty miles across, and include the following features:
      - Highways, labeled with the appropriate shields
      - Major roads, if scale allows and labeled as space permits
      - State and National Parks, Forests and Monuments
      - Water features, as scale allows
      - Military bases
      - Airports
      - Indian reservations
      - City points

Regional Custom Location Maps

These maps are suitable for mapping areas thirty to one hundred miles across, and include the following features:
      - Interstate and U.S. Highways labeled with the appropriate shields
      - State highways as scale allows
      - National Parks, Forests and Monuments
      - Water features, as scale allows
      - Military bases
      - Airport points
      - Indian reservations
      - City points

For all maps the following specifications apply:
    * Highway, major road and local street data is Updated frequently. However Maponics can not guarantee that any particular road will be on the map.
    * In cases where labels overlap because of a high density of streets, the labels will NOT be allowed to overlap. Although Maponics runs
each map through an optimized labeling process, there is no guarantee that any particular road will be labeled.
    * Street Naming: Often streets have more than one name (ex. State Highway 31 may also be named Main St) Due to size limitations Maponics will typically only place a single name, and cannot guarantee which of those names will appear.
    * There is no legend (or bar scale) on these maps.
    *Each map will include the Maponics logo information and any applicable copyright notices. Any duplication, digital or paper, in whole or in part must retain this information.

        - If not specified on the order Maponics will produce PNG format maps at 72 dpi and all other formats at a resolution of 300 dpi.

* Map dimensions are specified by the customer. The image width and height are independent, and each can be between three inches (3") and eight inches (8"). For example, 3"x4.5" or 6"x6".
